Abstract | A descriptive model of the contemporary annual economic cycle of a Chipewyan band in the full boreal forest is presented in terms of continuing ecological adaptations. Seasonal family nomadism has ceased, and male trapping partnerships have become the recent task groups. Adaptation to "bush" life by the men while the families remain in the village has created stresses which have not yet been resolved. |
