Abstract | This paper examines ethnohistorical data and their interpretations in an effort to show that the Cree were l8th century invaders of the Athabasca Lake region. Evidence shows that 18th century change was rapid and pronounced with a significant reorientation of Athapaskan and Algonkian man-land relationships. Protohistoric change has broad theoretical implications for models of Canadian Athapaskan indigenous populations. |
