Abstract | Presents an overview of the preliminary findings of the Mackenzie Basin Impact Study, which set out to determine the potential impacts of climate change scenarios on the water, land, and people of the basin. Assesses the likely challenges to be confronted by residents, researchers, and resource managers in the future in response to such climate change related phenomena as longer growing seasons, increased frequency and severity of forest fires, extension of pest ranges, and altered use of land. |
