Abstract | The main objectives of the present study were to determine the use of the mainstream lower Athabasca River for overwintering by key fish species, identify main overwintering areas, and determine habitat preferences of the overwintering fish. The results of the study are intended to be used in the determination of instream flow needs for fish and other users of the lower Athabasca River. |
