Abstract | Research Notes No. 28. Criteria and indicators can be used to define and measure sustainable forest management objectives. Local criteria and indicators are most relevant when they are developed by the local communities, residents and stakeholders. Adaptable community-based frameworks are necessary for developing local level criteria and indicators. Local C and I approaches may be a particularly effective way of incorporating Aboriginal peoples in sustainable forest management. |
