The review had several objectives: - Identify and discuss the availability and limitations of data used for human health risk assessments. - Identify whether the nature and context of health risk posed in the oil sands region are portrayed in an adequate manner in relation to trace air contaminants. - Make recommendations about whether another human health risk assessment would substantially add to the current understanding of these risks in the oil sands region. - Where evident, make recommendations on options to address real and perceived health risks associated with current and future oil sands developments.
