Dissolved oxygen (DO) is necessary to support all forms of life in water. DO levels in water vary as a result of natural processes and human activity. Problems occur when there is too little DO for aquatic life forms to survive and thrive. A DO guideline can be used to assess conditions in a water body, to identify when human activity has the potential to cause problems for the aquatic ecosystem, and to prevent these potential problems.</style>
<notes><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Donated by Dan Moore, Alberta Newsprint Corporation</style></notes><custom1><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Biology, Hydrology</style></custom1><custom3><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/39386337</style></custom3><custom4><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Science</style></custom4></record></records></xml>
